Mentor Training Moms

TMCInternational's second most popular program, second only to its Mentor Program, is its Lifeskills Workshops™. Lifeskills Workshops™ are so much more than just Parenting Classes! Lifeskills Workshops™ offer teen mothers the opportunity to receive valuable information as well as provide them with a place that offers them their own "community."

As it is with its other programs, TMCI created Lifeskills Workshops™ around these two principles:

  1. utilizing the Body of Christ to use their individuals gifts and talents to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to teen mothers.
  2.  addressing The Five Life Roles of a Teen Mother™.

These two principles are most clearly shown in Lifeskills Workshops™.

  1. Members of the Body of Christ use their God-given gifts and talents to train and educate teen mothers. Whether it's a Christian attorney who helps the teen mothers with Wills and Guardianships or it is a homemaker sharing her favorite recipes, everyone within the Body of Christ has some resource (time, talent or treasurer) that can enrich the life of a teen mother.
  2. When we provide teen mothers with valuable information we must make sure we address all 5 of her daily life roles: teenager, mother, student, employee and seeker. While providing a teen mother with information about parenting is important, being a mother isn't the only role a teen mother plays during the course of her day. Therefore, we need to make sure we address her other four roles as well. Lifeskills Workshops™ are designed around The Five Life Roles of a Teen Mother™.
