The Problem

Since 1973, God's people have fought hard to reverse the court's decision on Roe vs. Wade which legalized abortion. Millions of dollars have been spent advising young women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy to choose life for their precious children. However, little attention has been given to the young women who gave life to their babies and then choose to parent those children. If God's people, within the local church, truly believe that all life is sacred, why aren't we spending just as much time and money helping families headed up by teen mothers?

Every year in America, 465,600 teenage girls will give birth and choose to parent their children.

Struggling Mom

Of those 465,600 teen mothers:

  • 66% will not finish high school
  • 80% of all women currently on welfare assistance started receiving assistance when they were teen mothers.

The US government spends between 9 billion and 11 billion dollars annually on households headed up by teen mothers.

It has never been enough for local churches to focus the majority of their attention on pregnant teens and give such minimal attention to teens who are parenting their children.
