Christa March - Founder and President of TMCInternational
Christa began deveoping the TMCInternational Plan for serving teen mothers in 1989. She built the original program out of a church in Arlington Heights, IL. In 1996, a second church in northern Illinois took on The Plan and in 2006 a third church duplicated The Plan again. In 2007, TMCInternational was created to train and equip churches throughout America to serve teen mothers.
Christa has been a featured workshop speaker at Focus on the Family’s CPC Executive Directors’ Conference, 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2002 and has been a regular guest on various radio programs. Christa has written numerous articles (i.e. Understanding Teenage Mothers and The Five Life Roles of a Teenage Mother™) and was a contributing writer to Moody’s Midday Connection’s daily devotionals Daily Seeds published in 2009 and Tending the Soul published in 2011. A daily devotional specifically for teen mothers, which Christa put together, called Light to Lead the Way will be published in 2011.
In 1983, Christa married Jim March and today, they reside in Gurnee, Illinois with their two children.
Jim March – Co-Founder and Director
Jim’s professional experience spans across a broad range of disciplines and has a special emphasis in the areas of Business Administration, Finance, Staff Management, and Property Management. He currently works for a marketing research company based out of Chicago, Illinois.
Jim has served with several not-for-profit organizations; Westlake Christian School in Grayslake, IL as treasurer and as a director, and with Village Church of Gurnee, IL as treasurer and executive committee member and is currently serving on the Great Lakes Credit Union located in Northern Lake County, IL as a director.
Jim and Christa March have been married for 28 years and currently reside in Gurnee, IL with their two children.
Larry Stanek - Chairman of the Board (joined the Board of Directors in 2007)
Larry has over 35 years of experience providing research and marketing consulting to consumer package goods, retail services, and financial services clients. Larry is particularly adept at identifying strategic issues, creating unique solutions and counseling executives. As such he has a proven track record helping Fortune 500 companies grow revenue and increase profitability by driving business actions based on consumer and marketplace insights. Larry built and led the marketing research function for Kraft Foods Inc., as well as for the Minute Maid Company Unit of The Coca-Cola Company. Larry currently serves as a Senior Partner with the Marketing firm of Solution Partners.
Larry served with Christa March as a board member of the first TMCInternational program located in Arlington Heights, IL back in 1990. After moving first to Houston, TX and then to Arizona, Larry stayed in contact with the ministry as it grew. When TMCInternational became its own 501(c)3 organization, Larry once again joined the Board of Directors.
Currently Larry lives in Arizona with his wife.
Ed Whartnaby - Secretary of the Board (joined the Board of Directors in 2009)
Ed currently works for Component Hardware Group as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Component Hardware Group is a manufacturer and leading provider of hardware and plumbing parts for the food service industry. Component Hardware Group also sells plumbing items in the Health Care, Education, and Property Mangement segments
Ed has been married to his wife Beth since 1984. They have 3 sons: Brian (21) a senior at Wheaton, Michael (19) a freshman at Bethel University, and Luke (13) seventh grade.
Ed and Beth have lived in Libertyville, IL for the last 8 years. Together, they actively serve at The Chapel in Libertyville, IL.
Jerry McDermott - Treasurer of the Board (joined the Board of Directors in 2009)
Jerry and his wife Donna have lived in Lake Bluff, IL for the last 15 years. They are active members of Saint Mary's Parish where they both serve as Eucharistic Ministers. They are blessed with three great adult children and two lovely granddaughters.
Jerry has spent most of his career being involved in sales, marketing, and product development roles within such companies as Scott Paper, Kimberly Clark, and Newell Rubbermaid. He has also served in Senior Leadership roles with Technical Concepts and now Step 2 Holdings.
Susan Drake - Director (joined the Board of Directors in 2009)
Susan Drake has served the professional adult education world for over 27 years, the last 17 years as President of Drake Resource Group (DRG). DRG provides instructional design, organizational development, project management, graphic arts, web development, technical writing and facilitation services to both profit and non-profit organizations that need courses to provide new knowledge and skills to those in their organizations. Those learning experiences include interactive and engaging facilitated workshops, online web-based courses, webinars and virtual classroom events.
DRG has partnered with TMCI for several years helping them create their Licensee training materials (Readiness Survey, Feasibility Study and Director’s Guide) and webinars. In October 2009, Sue joined the TMCI board and currently provides guidance for TMCI’s present and future learning and educational needs.
Sue has a passion for helping those who help others and is thrilled to be able to support TMCI’s education and mentoring programs. Giving teen moms a chance to become the young ladies God intended them to be confirms that Sue herself is using the skills and talents God gave her. And what could be more fulfilling than that?
Deborah Winiger, MD - Director (joined the Board of Directors in 2010)
Debbie is a Family Physician working in Vernon Hills, IL with North Suburband Family Healthcare. She has served teen mothers in her practice by delivering teen moms and caring for their children as well as providing ongoing healthcare of the mom after their baby is born.
She is a member of Village Church of Gurnee where she has been involved as a volunteer teacher in children's ministries and on the small group leadership team.
She and her husband Jeff reside in Libertyville, IL with their two sons.
Besides serving on the TMCInternational Board of Directors, Debbie enjoys watching her children play sports and traveling.

David Raye - Director (joined the Board of Directors in 2010)
David Raye is owner of The Goddard School Third Lake, IL. After two decades as an executive in the corporate world, David’s rededication to follow Jesus Christ inspired him to dedicate his life to delivering high-quality education for infants, toddlers, pre-school and kindergarten children. David’s extensive research led him to The Goddard School, whose reputation is unsurpassed for quality for both the school facility and curriculum. The Goddard School has been rated #1 in Early Childhood education for the last 9 consecutive years and enjoys an excellent national reputation. Within 5 years, David’s school has quickly become the number two school out of over 400 Goddard Schools within the United States in all business, program, and health & safety categories.
David earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutger’s University and an MBA in Executive Management from St. John’s University, New York. Most recently he was part of an executive management team as General Manager and Sr. Vice President of worldwide operations that grew a computer software startup and took it public.
David and his wife, Donna, have been married 26 years. After a career in hospital administration, Donna has spent the last 13 years creating a loving, caring, and nurturing environment at home for their children to learn and grow while they attend school.
David serves on the Deacon Board of Christ Church Lake Forest which consists of leaders who conduct all business on behalf of the church. He also serves as a Chairman of the Board for the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) which assists severely disabled children from 3 – 22 years of age. David is President-elect for the Exchange Club whose mission is eliminating Child Abuse.
Billy Hallowell - Director (joined the Board of Directors in 2010)
Through journalism, media, public speaking appearances and the blogosphere, Billy Hallowell has worked as a journalist and commentator for more than a decade. He has been published and featured in political and cultural books, textbooks, articles and Web sites that focus on the youth of America and its role in the future of our world. Currently, Billy contributes to Human Events, The Daily Caller, Mediaite, and The Huffington Post, among other news media outlets. He is a regular on FOXNews.com LIVE as well.
Billy married his best friend, Andrea Hallowell, on July 20, 2008. They reside in Westchester, NY.

Helen Pring - Director (joined the Board of Directors in 2011)
Helen Pring is currently the Vice President Finance, Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America. She has responsibility for planning, accounting, tax, finance operations, finance systems, and purchasing. Helen is involved in long term strategic planning and supporting business development opportunities. Prior to Takeda, Helen spent eight years in the automotive supply industry in the UK, before joining Abbott UK in 1999. Helen moved to Chicago in 2001, where she held a number of finance roles in Abbott’s International Division, supporting various manufacturing and commercial operations in Latin America, Pacific Asia Africa and Japan before moving to TAP Pharmaceuticals in 2004
Helen is a UK Chartered Accountant and holds an executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Helen is a member of Village Church Gurnee and is actively involved in the Single Mom's Ministry. Helen lives in Gurnee with her 18 month old son Caleb
