Feasibility Study
In Luke 14:28, Jesus says, "“But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?" The same idea applies to starting a new ministry. In order for you to know what kind of services your ministry should provide teen mothers, you need to do some investigating. TMCInternational's Feasibility Study provides you with a step-by-step tool to not only find out what services you might provide, but also how much it will cost and how many volunteers it will take to start a ministry to teen mothers.
Let's take a look at what is involved in The Feasibility Study.
First of all, let's see if we can answer some of your initial questions, like:
What is a Feasibility Study?
TMCInternational defines a Feasibility Study as: Clarifying the God-given vision to serve teenage mothers within one’s own community, gathering information to define the needs of these teenage mothers, and recognizing what has to be accomplished to make this vision a reality.
Why is it necessary to do a Feasibility Study?
You may be wondering, “If I know that there is a need for a ministry for teen mothers in my community, and I feel that God is calling me to meet that need, why do I still have to do a Feasibility Study?” As you work through this Feasibility Study your vision for serving teen mothers is sure to be clarified.
How is TMCInternational's Feasibility Study conducted?
The TMCInternational Feasibility Study is in the form of a 50+ page workbook that we help you through step-by-step. There are three sections in this Feasibility Study and as you go through each section you will get a clearer vision as to what services God would have you provide teen mothers in your community. We view this way of conducting a feasibility study as the Three-Legged Stool Approach. Just as a stool has to have three legs of equal length to support someone's weight, the Feasibility Study has three “legs” or sections: Services, Costs and Volunteers. Each section of this three-legged Feasibility Study is as important as the other two.
Let's look at all three sections.
Section 1: Services
The purpose of this section of the Feasibility Study Workbook is to determine if your community really needs a ministry to serve teenage mothers and their children.
Section 2: Costs
The purpose of this section of the Feasibility Study Workbook is to develop a high level budget for implementing and operating a ministry for the teenage mothers in your community.
Section 3: Volunteers
The purpose of this section of the Feasibility Study Workbook is to determine how many volunteers you will need to serve teen mothers.
Once you have completed all the assignments involved in doing this Feasibility Study, TMCInternational will schedule a conference call with you to review your information. Together, during that call, we will determine if you should move on to the Director’s Guide — Preparing and Launching the Ministry.
The cost of the Feasibility Study Workbook and the consulting that goes with it is: $300.
