Around This Time Every Year ...
TMCInternational has to say, "We DON'T serve pregnant teens!"
The third Sunday of January is designated Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. (This coming year the date for Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is January 22, 2012.) Every year just around this time TMCInternational starts getting calls from churches and Pro-Life organizations asking us if we would be be willing to come and speak to their congregations or audiences about our ministry to pregnant teens.
"TMCInternational does not serve pregnant teens. We are a ministry committed to serving parenting teens," is our standard answer.
The silence from the other end of the phone is deafening. Perhaps the person on the other end never thought about what happens to a pregnant teen after she gives birth. Statistics show that this year:
- 485,000 teenage girls will give birth.
- Less than 4% of those 485,000 with place their children for adoption.
- That means, 465,600 teens will become mothers and choose to parent their children.
If Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is simply a day for Pro-Life people to mourn the horrors of abortion, than TMCInternational is NOT the organization you want speaking at your church or organization. However if you, like TMCInternational, view Sanctity of Human Life Sunday as a day to celebrate women ... especially young, single women ... who bravely choose to give their precious children life, than we would LOVE to speak to your congregation or group!
