Facebook Wisdom
Some days you can find some of the most profound wisdom on Facebook.
Today was such a day for me. Early this morning a friend posted this on his Facebook page:
Check this out: Jacob cheated, Peter had a temper,
David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Moses committed murder, Gideon was insecure,
Miriam gossiped, Martha worried, Thomas doubted, Sara was impatient, Elijah was moody,
Zacchaeus was short, Abraham was old & Lazarus was dead.
God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the CALLED!
Profound, wouldn't you agree? In the past 23 years, a day has not gone by where I haven't told God, "Lord, I'm not qualified to serve teen mothers!"
"Each time he said, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.' "
(2 Corinthians 12:9)
Because it was God who called me to serve teen mothers and not something I choose to do on my own, I have to constantly rely on His strength and wisdom! When I rely on Him for those things I can love and serve teen moms in a way that brings Him the most honor and glory; and then I can be sure that my work is effective.
If you're wondering if God is calling you to serve teen mothers and you're wondering how in the world you can do that ... Remember my friend's Facebook post:
God doesn't call the qualified, HE QUALIFIES THE CALLED!
